His throw was short and Lucas Duda couldn't come up with it, but Stephen Drew hit into a 6- 4- 3 double play for the first and second outs. Petit then lined out to Cuddyer to end the inning. Yanks 5- 4. TOP FOURTH. Wilmer Flores leads off with soft liner to second. Danny Muno, the designated hitter, struck out swinging for the second out. Curtis Granderson strikes out swinging to open third and Juan Lagares struck out for the second out. Lucas Duda then singled to right with two outs. Michael Cuddyer then doubled to left to score Duda, with Cuddyer going to third on the throw home. Daniel Murphy followed with his own double to left, scoring Cuddyer, making it 5- 4. Eric Campbell ended the inning with a chopper back to the mound. Yankees 5, Mets 4. BOTTOM SECOND. With Yanks trailing 2- 1, Chase Headley leads off second by grounding out to short. John Ryan Murphy followed with a one- out double down the third base line. Stephen Drew struck out for the second out and Gregorio Petit doubled to left to tie the game. With two outs, Brett Gardner, who then doubled down the first- base line to make it 3- 2 Yankees. Chris Young then hit a grounder through a vacant second base to score Gardner and make it 4- 2 Yankees. A- Rod then hit another double to left, scoring the run before getting thrown out at third to end the inning with the Yanks up 5- 2. TOP SECOND. With the Mets leading 2- 1 to open the second, Wilmer Flores flew out to right for the first out and Danny Muno followed with a strike out. Catcher Kevin Plawecki whiffed to end the inning. BOTTOM FIRST. Alex Rodriguez, who went 0- for- 4 against Matt Harvey Saturday, lit up Yankee Stadium with career home run No. It left him just one away from tying Willie Mays with 6. That milestone is supposed to earn Rodriguez a $6 million bonus, but the Daily News has reported the Yankees will fight Rodriguez over the bonus. For the second straight game, the Mets jumped on the Yankees early. Curtis Granderon led off the game with a homer to right field on a 3- 2 pitch from Nate Eovaldi. It was Granderson's first homer of the season and second first- inning HR for the Mets in this series. Lucas Duda homered off CC Sabathia in the first inning Saturday. Juan Lagares, who went 4- for- 4 Saturday, kept it going with a single to right. Lucas Duda hit a long ball to center that former Met Chris Young tracked down for first out. Michael Cuddyer then hit a sharp grounder to third that was snagged by Chase Headley, who threw Cuddyer out at first, moving Lagares to second. Daniel Murphy, though, kept the inning going with a scorching grounder to to first that got by Mark Teixeira to score Lagares and make it 2- 0.
